Fantasy Football News You Need to Know
Read this Before Week 2 begins...
Hey!
I spent a few hours reading injury reports this week - so you don’t have to.
Here’s the most important takeaways for your fantasy football leagues in Week 2:
#1 Christian McCaffrey is OUT
Jordan Mason will operate as the 49ers RB1 He set a new 49ers record with 28 carries in Week 1 One more thing: RB Isaac Guerendo should be added in most leagues now…
#2 Kenneth Walker is doubtful
He injured his oblique late in the game Week 1. Walker couldn’t practice all week – he’s trending to miss this game. Zach Charbonnet is now a Top-20 RB this week…
#3 Jayden Reed is questionable
He popped up on the injury report with a calf issue on Friday. Mid-week injuries aren’t great - it implies this is a new injury. Reed is in jeopardy of missing Week 2…
#4 Tee Higgins is doubtful
He didn’t practice all week. Andrei Iosivas will start again for the Bengals if Higgins is out. Iosivas led the team with 35 routes run last week & earned 5 targets…
#5 The Bears have serious WR injuries
Both Keenan Allen & Rome Odunze are game-time decisions. Keenan didn’t practice all week – but Odunze was able to practice Friday. If Odunze is active you can start him – especially if Keenan is out…
#6 Josh Downs is a game-time decision for the Colts
He was surprisingly able to practice in full on Friday. Downs is trending in the right direction – but could be limited if he plays. Regardless – add him if he’s available in your leagues…
#7 Malik Nabers will play
He was able to practice in full on Friday & was left off the final injury report. Nabers earned a team-high 31% target share in Week 1. Start him with confidence this week…
#8 Nico Collins is good to go
He popped up on the injury report on Thursday with an illness – but was left off the final injury report. He will play in Week 2 & is coming off an impressive 117-yard performance...
#9 Jordan Addison is OUT
He’s dealing with injuries to both his left & right ankle. Expect WRs Jalen Nailor & Brandon Powell to see bigger roles in the Vikings offense. If you had to start one – I’d start Nailor…
#10 Josh Palmer is questionable
He couldn’t practice on Friday with a knee injury. If Palmer can’t go – expect a bigger role for Quentin Johnston. Johnston quietly earned 20% of the team’s targets in Week 1…
#11 Jameson Williams is questionable
But he was able to practice in limited fashion all week. Jameson is trending to play – and is coming off a huge week. Williams earned a team-high 121 yards on 8 targets in Week 1.
If he’s active – you start him…
#12 Jake Ferguson is unlikely to play
He appears to have avoided a major knee injury – but his Week 2 status is in doubt. Expect Brandin Cooks to earn a larger target share with Ferguson out. Cooks had a strong 14-point performance in Week 1 for Dallas…
#13 The Browns O-Line is still banged up
Left Tackle Jedrick Willis is out & Right Tackle Jack Conklin is questionable. Last week without these guys – the Browns allowed the most pressures in the league.
I’m concerned once again for Amari Cooper & this passing attack…
#14 Mike Williams is expected to play more in Week 2
He was on a 15 snap limit in Week 1 – which led to 0 targets on just 6 routes run. You can’t start him – but be patient with Williams as he ramps up…
#15 David Njoku is OUT
The Browns will start Jordan Akins at Tight End. He ran 28 routes and earned 4 targets in Week 1. Akins has played 50 games with Deshaun Watson - dating back to their time together in Houston…
#16 Jordan Love is questionable
He couldn’t practice all week & is probably going to miss this game. But Love avoided being placed on IR and is still not ruled out for Week 2. This is a good sign that he could be back as soon as Week 3…
#17 Texans TE Dalton Schultz will play
He was able to practice in full on Friday. Schultz earned just 16 yards on 3 targets in Week 1…
#18 Rams Right Tackle Rob Havenstein is trending to play
He practiced in full on Friday – and the Rams need him. They are battling injuries along their line – as they allowed the 4th most pressures in Week 1…
#19 Vikings Right Tackle Brian O’Neil is questionable
He was able to practice in limited fashion all week. Minnesota needs their stud tackle against the 49ers front. If O’Neil was to miss – I’d be concerned for Sam Darnold and this offense…
#20 Marquise Brown is OUT
And he’s at risk of having season-ending surgery. Xavier Worthy & Rashee Rice become must starts in most leagues this week. And you can consider adding WR Justin Watson in deeper leagues…
But before you go - I have to let you know about this crazy Prize Picks promotion for Week 1.
