This is how you win your league...
Hey Fantasy Club Members!
I’m back with another key tip for you.
Look I’m not proud of this - but I’ve spent 2 hours or so each day reading camp news.
And I’ve filtered it all down to the most important details for fantasy football.
This email is a tad longer than usual - but it’s worth your time.
Here are 20 must know items for fantasy football:
1. Jahmyr Gibbs hamstring injury is minor.
A minor hamstring strain typically heals in 1-2 weeks. The team expects Gibbs to be ready Week 1. He's still a strong option entering his 2nd season behind the #1 O-Line in football…
2. Alvin Kamara left practice with back tightness.
It’s not thought to be serious - but this is worth monitoring. Especially since Kamara is now 29 years old. Kamara is trending to be the Saints clear RB1 as 2nd year back Kendre Miller is still battling a hamstring injury…
3. Malik Nabers returns to Giants practice.
He injured his ankle on Monday and is already back just 3 days later. Nabers remains a strong value in the 4th or 5th round of drafts...
4. Jordan Mason is pushing to be the 49ers RB2.
He's received praise from coach Kyle Shanahan this offseason. And now he’s getting more starter reps as Christian McCaffrey & Elijah Mitchell battle injuries. Mason is a nice late round pick in deeper leagues…
5. Mike Williams is participating in drills.
Williams was activated off the PUP list last week & returned to individual drills this week. The 30-year-old is coming off a torn ACL but will be a starting WR for Aaron Rodgers. He’s an appealing pick in Round 13 of drafts…
6. Colby Parkinson is the Rams TE1.
He sat with the rest of the starters in their 1st preseason game. This tells us the team views him as a starter with Tyler Higbee expected to miss at least 6-8 weeks. Parkinson is a sneaky option late in drafts…
7. JJ McCarthy undergoes season-ending knee surgery.
This means Sam Darnold will be the Vikings starter. Darnold ranks bottom-5 in accuracy since entering the NFL. This has Justin Jefferson dropping a few spots in Round 1 for me…
8. Jordan Addison injured his ankle on Wednesday.
Coach Kevin O’Connell stated Thursday that Addison is unlikely to miss extended time. But with Addison’s injury - his legal issues & now Sam Darnold as his QB it’s hard to get excited about Addison in drafts…
9. Diontae Johnson is the clear #1 WR for the Panthers according to Charles Robinson.
Robinson also added that we shouldn’t sleep on Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard will start the season as the Panthers RB1 until rookie Jonathon Brooks returns...
10. Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy returns from an ankle injury.
He was carted off the field on Tuesday but appears he’s fine after sprinting & cutting in Thursday's practice. Based on preseason usage – Tracy is the Giants #2 RB behind Devin Singletary…
11. MarShawn Lloyd pulled his hamstring.
It’s been a rough preseason for the Packers rookie RB - who has battled a hip injury, fumbling issues & now a hamstring injury. All of this has benefitted Josh Jacobs – who should command a 3-down role Week 1…
12. Marquise Brown suffers a shoulder injury.
Brown injured his shoulder after 1 snap in the Chiefs preseason game. He’s expected to miss 4-6 weeks - but could be ready Week 1. This gives rookie WR Xavier Worthy even more reps with the 1st team offense…
13. Brian Thomas Jr. is starting to heat up in Jaguars camp.
The rookie WR has been unstoppable in joint practices against the Bucs. He’s one of the best picks in Round 10 of your drafts…
14. Justin Fields was pushing to be the Steelers QB1.
But then he had a poor preseason showing - fumbling the ball twice. Russell Wilson is now back at Steelers practices and getting 1st team reps. Expect Wilson to start Week 1…
15. The Commanders starting WRs appear to be:
Terry McLaurin – Dyami Brown and Jahan Dotson. But Coach Dan Quinn said they still don’t have the WR2 job figured out. It appears Jahan Dotson hasn’t done enough to win the job...
16. Ja’Lynn Polk is still emerging as the Patriots WR1.
Despite not playing much with the starters in the preseason – Polk appears to still be in line for a big role. According to Charles Robinson - Polk has a good shot at emerging as the Patriots WR1...
17. Colts rookie WR Adonai Mitchell sees 1st team usage.
With Josh Downs out with a high-ankle sprain – Mitchell saw slot usage in the Colts preseason game. Mitchell is a top tier athlete who was a lethal deep threat in college…
18. Packers TE Tucker Kraft is back from pectoral surgery.
He was one of the best blocking TEs in the NFL last season. And Kraft ranked 4th in QB passer rating when targeted among TEs. Expect Kraft to be heavily involved on the Packers offense…
19. Rashod Bateman is still working his way back from a minor injury.
He returned to practice drills on Wednesday & should be good to go Week 1. Bateman has had a solid camp & is expected to start for the Ravens in 2024...
20. WR Troy Franklin remains deep down the Broncos depth chart.
Benjamin Allbright said Franklin is even behind fellow rookie DeVaughn Vele at this point. Franklin goes before DeMario Douglas & Wan’Dale Robinson in drafts. This is a mistake…
If you made it to the end - reply ‘real one’ because that’s what you are!
I’ll see you all next week!
