I’m back again - fresh off a full weekend of preseason games.

What a time it is to be living.

Here’s your tip for the day.

Opportunity isn’t all that matters.

You’ll hear people say ‘he’s set up for 20 touches that’s all that matters for this running back’

But what about if the offensive scheme and environment is bad and those 20 touches lead to just 65 scoreless yards?

And what if the RB isn’t dynamic or explosive - this surely hurts the reliability of that 20-touch RB keeping his role.

Especially if he has flaws - such as pass protection - or maybe a more dynamic player behind him.

This was my stance on Dameon Pierce last season. He was running behind a poor offensive line and his talent level was highly questionable.

He ended up busting as a 4th round pick.

So remember - opportunity isn’t all that matters
