Week 3 Fantasy Football News You Need to Know

Read this Before Week 3 begins...

Hey!

I spent a few hours reading injury reports this week - so you don’t have to.

Here’s the most important takeaways for your fantasy football leagues in Week 3:

1. Joe Mixon is doubtful.

And Dameon Pierce is also out for the Texans. Cam Akers is trending to start in Week 3. He’ll face the Vikings #1 ranked run defense this week...

2. Tee Higgins is trending to play.

He said he feels 100% heading into Week 3. Higgins will face the Commanders 32nd ranked secondary…

3. Kenneth Walker is doubtful.

Zach Charbonnet is now a Top-10 RB this week. He earned 100% of the backfield carries in Week 2. And posted 18 fantasy points on 19 touches…

4. AJ Brown is OUT.

He didn’t practice all week. Last week with Brown out – WR Britain Covey earned 6 targets on 34% of the snaps. DeVonta Smith also becomes a Top 10 WR this week…

5. George Kittle is doubtful.

He was added to the injury report mid-week with a hamstring injury. Eric Saubert will start if Kittle is out. Saubert has 38 career receptions across 8 NFL seasons…

6. Michael Pittman is questionable.

He popped up on the injury report on Friday with a back/calf issue. Colts coach Shane Steichen said he expects Pittman to play. But mid-week injuries are never good – track this one closely…

7. Keenan Allen is OUT.

Last week with Allen out – DJ Moore earned a team-high 10 targets. DeAndre Carter filled in directly for Allen & earned 4 targets on 71% of the snaps...

8. Justin Jefferson will play.

He left Week 2 with a quad injury. And he was limited in practice to start the week – but practiced in full on Friday. Jefferson will face the Texans #8 ranked secondary this week…

9. Jordan Addison is OUT.

Expect WR Jalen Nailor to once again be the Vikings #2 WR. Nailor played 94% of the snaps & posted 14.4 fantasy points on 4 targets in Week 2…

10. Jordan Love is questionable.

He was able to practice in limited fashion all week. It’s unlikely the Packers would put Love out there if he’s not 100%. If Love starts – you can assume he’s a full go…

11. Nico Collins is good to go.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday with a hip/foot injury. But he was able to practice in full on Friday. Collins will face the Vikings #7 ranked secondary…

12. Josh Downs will make his season debut.

He practiced in full all week for the Colts. And according to reports – Downs was the Colts best WR in training camp. He’s still available in 76% of fantasy leagues…

13. Josh Palmer is questionable.

He wasn’t able to practice all week due to an elbow/calf injury. Expect more usage for Quentin Johnston & Ladd McConkey if Palmer misses. Johnston is coming off earning a career-high 32% target share in Week 2…

14. CeeDee Lamb will play.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday - but was able to practice in full on Friday. Lamb has earned a 23% target share through 2 games. He’ll face the Ravens #26 ranked secondary in Week 3…

15. Jake Ferguson will play.

He missed Week 2 with a knee injury but was able to practice this entire week. Ferguson earned a solid 6 targets on just 21 routes before injury in Week 1...

16. DK Metcalf is good to go.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday with a hand injury. But Metcalf was able to practice in full on Thursday/Friday. He’ll face the Dolphins 30th ranked secondary this week…

17. Evan Engram is unlikely to play.

He didn’t practice all week after injuring his hamstring in pre-game warmups just 6 days ago. TE Brenton Strange will likely start for the Jaguars. He earned 65 yards on 6 targets in Week 2…

18. Justin Herbert is questionable.

He’s dealing with a high-ankle sprain & there’s a real chance he’s out on Sunday. Easton Stick is the Chargers backup QB. He’s averaged 225 passing yards across 5 career starts…

19. David Njoku is OUT.

TE Jordan Akins started for the Browns in Week 2. He earned just 1 target on 49% of the snaps…

20. Kareem Hunt is OUT.

The Chiefs will roll with Carson Steele & Samaje Perine. Expect a split backfield where Steele sees more early down usage & Perine handles passing downs…
