Your Week 5 Waiver Wire Guide

Week 4 is over and a lot just happened.

Let’s break down the Top 5 adds on the waiver wire - plus some deeper league stashes:

#5 Trey Sermon

Jonathan Taylor suffered a mild high-ankle sprain at the end of a strong Week 4 performance.

This injury will likely keep him out at least 1 game - but potentially more. Sermon has been the only other Colts RB to earn carries this season.

He enters with 5 with a strong matchup against the Jaguars…

#4 Kareem Hunt

Hunt led the Chiefs backfield in snaps and touches on Sunday.

Now this needs more context because rookie Carson Steele fumbled early and was benched.

But this was Hunt’s first game active and he produced 85 yards on 16 touches - pretty impressive…

#3 Xavier Legette

The first round rookie saw his role grow with Adam Thielen out.

He led the Panthers WRs in snaps and routes run.

This led to a strong day of 86 total yards and a TD on 10 targets (26% target share). He’s a must add in all leagues…

#2 Josh Downs

He benefitted from Joe Flacco playing the majority of this game due to an Anthony Richardson injury.

Downs led the Colts with a 33% target share from Flacco and produced 82 yards & 1 touchdown…

Richardson’s Week 5 status is currently uncertain…

#1 Dontayvion Wicks

Wicks had a bad real life game with some drops - but his usage and fantasy production was strong.

Christian Watson left this game with an injury and is expected to be placed on IR.

After Watson left - Wicks led the Packers with a 25% target share. He turned 13 targets into 5 catches for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns…
