Your Week 6 Waiver Wire Guide
Read this before you make any waiver wire moves...
Hey!
Week 6 is over and a lot just happened.
Let’s break down the Top 5 adds on the waiver wire right now - plus some other names to consider:
#5 Sean Tucker
The 2nd year back out of Syracuse just broke out in Week 6.
Tucker saw extended playing time with Rachaad White out.
On 37% of the snaps - Tucker turned 17 touches into 192 total yards & 2 TDs. Incredible performance.
Tucker went undrafted in 2023 due to medical issues. But he's made the Bucs team each of the past 2 seasons as an undrafted free agent.
Tucker has solid size/speed & can catch passes at a high level.
We don't know what this backfield will look like once Rachaad White is back. But we do know that Irving & Tucker are the more explosive RBs compared to White.
Tucker is worth a stash to see how this all plays out…
#4 Kimani Vidal
The chargers rookie became an add last week once Gus Edwards was placed on IR.
Despite this news - Vidal is still available in over 90% of leagues. Here's what you need to know...
Vidal is a bigger back - who led college football in rushing last year with nearly 1700 yards. His best trait is his ability to pass-protect.
This is likely why Jim Harbaugh trusts the rookie enough to play him on meaningful snaps. But that's not all because Vidal is also a strong pass-catcher.
We saw this on his 1st NFL touch in Week 6 - when he scored on a 38-yard TD reception downfield.
But here's the thing - JK Dobbins is still the clear RB1 for the Chargers. He just had 25 carries in Week 7.
But Vidal is earning a nice role as the RB2 - and he's just 1 Dobbins injury away from league-winning potential.
#3 Demario Douglas
Drake Maye made his NFL debut in Week 6 and at least for this game Demario Douglas was his favorite target.
Douglas ran 62% of the routes as he mostly played as a slot WR - but he led the team with 9 targets – a 30% target share.
Douglas has now hit a 28%+ target share in 3 of his last 4 games.
And Drake Maye looked fine in his NFL debut.
He completed 61% of his passes & averaged 7.4 YPA with multiple explosive plays and he ran for 38 yards on 5 carries.
Maye’s ability to run & create out of the pocket will keep drives alive and leads to big plays – just like it did in this game.
Douglas is worth an add – especially if Maye shows a ceiling at any point this season…
#2 Blake Corum
He quietly saw interesting usage before his bye in Week 5.
Corum entered the year with some hype as a 3rd round pick. He was one of the best college RBs the past 3 seasons & was now being paired up with Sean McVay.
But things started off bad because Corum didn't see a snap in Week 1. And his only work before Week 5 came in a blowout. Not great.
But a lot changed in Week 5. Corum was the Rams clear RB2 - playing 11 snaps & seeing 6 opportunities.
He averaged 5.5 yards per touch & looked good.
Corum is now a must add in all 12 team leagues because he's just 1 injury away from a large workload.
#1 Ty Chandler
He's a must add heading into Week 7. Chandler exits his bye week & could immediately be the Vikings starter. Here's why...
Aaron Jones suffered a hip injury in Week 5. He's week-to-week & there's a chance he misses Week 7.
This opens the door for Chandler - who started 1 game in 2023.
In Week 15 of 2023 - Chandler started & produced over 150 total yards & 1 TD.
Chandler is a speedy RB with some explosiveness to his game.
It's a tough matchup against the Lions this week - but Chandler is worth grabbing…
