Your Week 7 Waiver Wire Guide

Read this before you make any waiver wire moves...

Hey!

Week 7 is over and there’s important info you need to know.

Let’s break down the Top 5 adds on the waiver wire right now - plus some other names to consider:

#5 Tyler Goodson

He looks like the best running back for the Colts with Jonathan Taylor out. Goodson is a more explosive & dynamic RB than Trey Sermon.

And his role is growing - check this out...

In Week 7 - Goodson played a season high 48% of the snaps and saw 6 more carries than Sermon. But the elephant in the room is Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor has missed 3 games with a high-ankle sprain. This is a 4-6 week recovery - so it's not guaranteed he returns in Week 7.

And even if he does - he could be limited because Taylor has a long history of ankle issues. Including in 2022 - when he injured the same ankle twice.

You can start Goodson in Week 7 if Taylor is out. Add him & this next rookie:

#4 Ray Davis

He's still available in over 75% of leagues. This is a mistake.

Davis entered Week 7 with an injury & here's what he did.

Despite battling a calf injury - Davis averaged 7.8 yards per touch. And he scored a touchdown.

He outproduced James Cook in this game. But that's not what this is about because Cook is still the RB1 on this team.

But Davis could make this a 50/50 backfield once he's healthy.

And if Cook was to miss time again - we know the Bills trust Davis to handle a full workload like he did in Week 6.

Add Davis and this next WR:

#3 Ricky Pearsall

He made his season-debut in Week 7.

Pearsall is the 49ers 1st round pick and he was a talented WR at Florida. He’s known for his elite route running ability both in the slot & out wide.

In Week 7 - Pearsall earned a solid 17% target share but this needs more context. Jauan Jennings didn’t play in this game and both Deebo Samuel & Brandon Aiyuk left & didn’t return.

Deebo should be back in Week 8 but Aiyuk’s season may be over with a knee injury.

This makes Pearsall a must add in all leagues as he’ll become a Top 3 receiver in this offseason with the potential for more…

#2 Tyrone Tracy

Believe it or not - he's still available in 50% of leagues.

Many people dropped him with Devin Singletary returning in Week 7. But those people made a massive mistake because...

We were told Friday Tracy would still have a significant role. And he did. Tracy played 67% of the snaps and led the backfield with 9 opportunities.

Tracy was the primary RB on early downs & passing downs. He operated as the clear RB1 ahead of Singletary.

Now maybe this was due to Singletary's return from injury. But at the same time - they told us Tracy would remain involved.

One more thing...

Tracy has a strong schedule coming up. He'll take on the Commanders, Panthers, Cowboys & Saints - who all have bottom-10 run defenses.

Add Tracy & this next guy…

#1 Jauan Jennings

He missed Week 7 with an injury. Jennings wasn’t able to practice all week - so there’s a chance he misses Week 8 as well.

But the Brandon Aiyuk injury means Jennings should step into the WR2 role in the 49ers offense behind Deebo Samuel.

Jennings has been productive when given more opportunities - like in Week 3 when he earned 175 yards & 3 touchdowns or Week 4 when he posted 88 yards.

Jennings is available in 71% of leagues - go add him if you can…
